Another KRS Camp

On the 25th of May 2013, IISKD organized another KRS camp, which was held at Rimba Kalong, Ulu Yam. It involves primary & secondary students this time. There were 8 groups in this camp, which I was in the eighth group. The members of the group were me, my brother, Wazir, Syed Abdul Rahman, Ammar Aimaan, Mahyaddin, Adi Putra & Luqman Haqeem Elias, with our facilitators, Mohd. Hassan and Afiq. Sometimes, Syammil (Assiyah's brother) became our facilitator as well.  After we finished our jamaah on Zuhor and Asar prayers, we built our tent. Then, we were asked to make our dinner using natural stove (which was to cook using fire). Well, it looked similar with the last camp. The food we ate was rice, egg and sardine. Close to 11pm, night-walk activity began. At the first part of the activity, it was a solo walk. Compared with the old camp, I felt less afraid. During the solo walk, secondary 4 students apparently pretended to become ghosts. I heard that they were wearing masks, poncho and so on. At the second part, we have to be blindfolded as we go back to the campsite. Luckily, as we heard thunder, we opened the cloth and continued. Since it was raining, we slept in a hall, not in our tent. At the second day, we did our morning assembly. At around 8:30am, we started training to march. Unfortunately, during the event, I got a stomach ache and also diarrhea. Alhamdulillah, it occurred only once. I was given a rest after eating medicine and drinking tea. At 3:00pm, the disease had recovered and I participated in another KRS activity, which was to learn self defense and fighting (which looks quite similar with Karate). The event took ALMOST 3 HOURS!! However, I did well at that time. After our Maghrib and Isya prayers, we did our exam (for increasing our rank to Corporal). It was surprising until almost all questions are tough. However, some are like peanuts only (like questions based on Hafazan & Tajweed). After we did our exams, we watched primary students playing indoor games. We were too sleepy for a moment. On the third day, we went for jungle trekking to a waterfall. But, we have to be disciplined by following the KRS rules. At the checkpoint, we maked up one of our group members, which was Mahyaddin. We were too creative until we made some sort of an archery for him. At the waterfall, I just played with stones and even with my empty water bottle. At 2:30pm. Puan Harliana (Zaim Taqi's mother, board of governors) inspected each and every tent. She said that we only made 3 gadgets, which was sad, because some groups made 5 gadgets. Then she gave a closure speech, saying that the winner based on uniform category was Group 7, whilst on the number of gadgets, the winner was Group 3. Then, we packed up and depart. We finally arrived just a few minutes before Maghrib prayer. So far, in my perspective, this camp was more brutal and challenging than the last camp. However, it was fun, exhilarating and also, not a dull moment.
