A 'spice' of my life: Getting a motorbike (B2 class) license [Part 2: Road to P]

Peace be upon you, and salam Sehati Sejiwa! Before I start, I want to share to you a beautiful verse regarding the need to be thankful that you are given the opportunity to ride a vehicle. Almighty Allah has said in Surah Az-Zukhruf, 13-14: "...and then remember the favour of your Lord when you have settled upon them (mounted animals [which are 'vehicles']) and say, "Exalted is He who has subjected this to us, and we could not have (otherwise) subdued it. And indeed we, to our Lord, will (surely) return."" Enough of the muqaddimah, let's get back to my motorbike career. More than a week has passed, and I have finally received my L license (tbh, it looked so old it literally took me back in time!) Then a small briefing was conducted, especially for first timers, regarding the whole course, and what to do at certain elements provided. Do you know what, it was my first class when I was way too unfortunate. I was kinda blurred at that time, so when my turn arrived, to be honest, I messed up. I got a slight injury at the cone element because I used a low gear! Thankfully, others helped me, and reminded me to use a higher gear, like gear 3. This was then followed by another accident, when I pushed my motor forward to the starting line of KPP03. I held one hand at the handle and one at the back side, causing the motor to fall. At that time, I almost suffered a blackout and I was told to rest for a moment. Time passed, and alhamdulillah, my performance at the whole course just got better and better. Finally, on the first few days of September, I attended my final class (5th one) and took QTI (pre-test). During this time, I recieived a new form called SM4, which I think will be sent to JPJ once QTI is done. One of my instructors, Cikgu Shuhaimi, monitored how I inspect the motor provided for not more than 3-5 minutes. Alhamdulillah, that went smoothly. On the 15th of September (Thursday), my official test with JPJ began, and let me highlight this event. I had to be at MDA earlier than before, so hopefully I could get my turn earlier too! However, my instructors just called a random student, so the first to be called, might get the first turn. Then I heard about the 'sessions' part which I didn't understand that much. I heard there were 3 sessions. After filling in the JPJ result form, I was told to wear orange-coloured vest number 15, so I was among the candidates for the first session. Nervous, my friends and I then waited for A LONG TIME (almost for an hour) for the JPJ to arrive. Finally, at around 11am, 2 men from JPJ arrived at the motorcycle course. I guessed the other JPJ men and women examined the car and truck drivers first. Anyway, we queued, and waited for our names to be called for the RPM (Rutin Pemeriksaan Motor). Without realising, although I was number 15, I was among the first to be called by JPJ! At this time, my panic built up as I inspected the motor provided in front of JPJ. Some other candidates were called while I was inspecting. Suddenly, while doing the inspection, one of the 2 JPJ guys said, "Dah2. Cukup2." I was so puzzled, as there were other components that were left unchecked. Apparently, this happened to most of my friends, probably because JPJ knew that we wouldn't do RPM daily/frequently. So, I think for them, RPM might not be that necessary. Ok, so I actually didn't know how JPJ sorted turns, but anyway, after a short break and the completion of RPM for all candidates, the JPJ moved to another desk, where they would get almost a great view of the whole motorcycle circuit. Of course, as JPJ never wanted to miss out one single element. Otherwise, they may not realise the mistakes done at certain elements by us. Before proceeding with the next part, Cikgu Shuhaimi gave a little briefing about this. He said that before we do the 'titi' and all that, wait for JPJ's instruction. And he also said to us that there's no need to check the whole motor, until you get out of the seat. Just check briefly, and then go. Again, I was among the first to be called. When my turn arrived, I went to the starting point whilst I was feeling almost pessimistic. But I said to myself, "Brother, you've attended 5 classes, and you managed to overcome the various elements easily during these classes. So, why worry so much?" As JPJ gave me the green light, I started accomplishing the KPP02 test, whilst trying not to look at them inspecting my result form. Alhamdulillah, everything went well, except that sometimes I didn't understand Cikgu's instruction, especially during the part before beginning my KPP03 test. I thought I had to check the very essential components before riding, but his instruction was simple- to check components that are enough to be inspected whilst sitting, like the brakes, then go. Once I was done with everything, I took my result form from JPJ, without looking at it. I told other people around me to confirm whether I failed or not. Alhamdulillah, I had a big relief when one of them told me that I succeed!Joyful, I sent my result form to the admin and waited for one week to receive my P license.

Hey folks! May the peace be upon you guys In Shaa Allah. Today, I would like to share to you about some sweet and bitter moments on getting the crucial document I need to ride on the road-LICENSE. Yeah, it is license in which, once you dont bring it together, or you use a fake license, or license on behalf of a different person, well you should know the outcome: getting compounded for instance.
Tbh, at the first place, I havent had the interest on riding a motorbike. I was kinda afraid of motorbike accidents on the road, as I am sure that there are many drivers out there who still have their license, but they dont actually apply what they have learned in the driving institute. I can only, however, pray to Allah, that such incidents would not happen to me. Yes, I also had the incidents almost similar to these accidents, but on a bicycle. I once ramped on a car so badly until I hurt my own 'thing' cuz I was busy looking at the what nots at the handle. Alhamdulillah, I wasnt compounded for that. Anyway, my excitement built up when I was told that motorbikes can be very handy esp when going to the faculties in a university,which Ill be going in around late October 2016 in shaa allah.
Anyway, back to our story, we registered at the Metro Driving Academy (MDA) in Kampung Melayu Subang for about RM371. Yes, you MUST bring your IC for verification process about your identity. Upon registration, in my case, youll receive a text book and a book which contains  roughly 500 questions for the thoery test later.  In case if you wanna know the flow of getting the B2 license, follow the steps below:

1. I've already mentioned about the registration process a little bit.

2. Attend the KPP01 Theory Class. In case you dont know whats KPP, it stands for 'Kursus Pendidikan Pemandu'. Class lasts for about 5 hours and its OBLIGATORY to attend. Cuz youll get a great idea about the various signboards *interesting part*,  what to do when you see a certain sign on the road, the various problems on the road and the no of demerit points youll acquire, and also learning about the various licenses. Once you attended the class, youll be awarded with a JPJL2A certificate, which you dont have to hold with you, and lasts for 1 year. Speaking of the traffic problems, let me share to you some of which I have learned:
Riding while being influenced by drugs and alcohol-15 points
Riding whilst racing-15 points
Disobeying traffic lights-10 points
Overspeeding more than the required speed limit by 1-25kmh-6 points

{BTW, THIS EXPLAINS WHY YOU CANNOT RIDE ON THE ROADS WITHOUT ANY LICENSE.}

3. Take the KPP01 test. Within 1 YEAR FROM DATE OF ATTENDING THEORY CLASS (due to the presence of yr JPJL2A certificate), youll need to book online with those in charge in yr driving institude first though, about 3 days b4 yr date of sitting. You MUST score at least 42/50 to pass!! Where to take the tests? Mine was at the MYEG place at Subang Permai. There, you must bring yr IC, and RM10 for the photo for yr Learners Driving License (LDL).  Please remember to get the hardcopy of your results once youre done. Oh and one thing, PRACTISE B4 TAKING THE EXAM. I think among the best websites to practise is this one here:

{At this stage, you can already start buying your motorbike. Now most motor dealers wouldn't care if you guys dont have a license yet, but still the staffs may remind you that if anything happens, youre responsible for that. So have yr insurance ready, and of course, if you need to report to the police regarding this issue, I heard that you must have a license!!}

4. Send your necessary documents to your driving institude, esp yr statement of results, so you could get your LDL (Learner's Driving License). I heard it may take about 3-10 working days to create one.
